What I like best about this classroom apple baking center is it’s simple to create! Head to your local dollar store and pick up some fall decor, mixing bowls, rolling pins, measuring cups, and spoons.

For the pies, I purchased a couple of sets of Kidcraft Create and Cook Apple Pie, but I’ve seen a lot of different pretend sets; I’ve linked more fun options at the end of this post.

Keep Dramatic Play Simple

Displaying center items on open shelves makes it easy for kids to find and use the items they want. Labeling where everything goes will make clean-up time a lot less hectic.

Less is more when creating learning through play dramatic play centers; too many items can overwhelm little learners. When little ones are overwhelmed in their play area, they will usually start dumping toys, and negative behaviors will increase.

If you plan on having the same dramatic play center open for a week or more, try starting with minimum items and adding a couple of new ones each day to keep the center inviting and fresh.
