Fun Infant Activities: Ideas and Resources for Childcare Providers
As childcare providers, we know how important it is to engage and educate our young students. Today, I want to share some fun infant activities you can do with your 10-month-old students. Plus, I have a free infant curriculum that you can download from Teachers Pay Teachers. Let’s get started!
10-month-old milestones
- Mastering Crawling
- Standing with support
- Pulling up to stand
- Avoiding strangers
- Saying Mama and Dada
- Verbalizing other familiar words
- Using gestures to communicate
- Recognizing and responding to familiar words
- Imitating the activities of adults and older kids
Infant Fine Motor Activity
First, let’s start with a simple and fun fine motor activity using washi tape. This versatile craft tape can be found at most craft stores. Peel and stick the washi tape to any surface, such as a highchair, wall, or even the floor! Your baby will love pulling the tape off and sticking it back on. This activity helps improve their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and dexterity.
Infant Gross Motor Activity
Next up, we have a gross motor activity that uses an exercise ball. Bouncing the baby gently on the ball and shifting them back and forth is a great way to strengthen their core and work on their sense of balance.
Infant Cognitive Activity
Our last activity involves using mimic toys. Encourage pretend play using toys that mimic everyday objects, such as a toy phone or hairbrush. This allows babies to use their imagination and build connections with their previous experiences.
Infant Curriculum
And now, for the free infant curriculum! This curriculum includes ideas for daily routines and fun infant activities that you can use to enhance your infant program. Plus, it’s completely free to download from Teachers Pay Teachers.
In conclusion, there are many simple yet effective ways to engage and educate 10-month-old babies. With these activities and the free curriculum, I hope that you can continue to provide a fun and stimulating environment for your young students. Happy teaching!
