5 Creative Christmas Toddler Math Activities Every Student Will Love

Today I am sharing my favorite Christmas Toddler Math Activities. Early math encourages toddlers to think, talk, wonder and reason. These creative Christmas toddler math activities will add some extra fun to your holiday lesson plans.

First, I would like to welcome you to ClubbhouseKids Early Learning. My name is Hollie and I have been a childcare provider for 15 years. I have taught multiple ages, but infants and toddlers are my jam. I love creating fun, engaging units to keep toddlers busy and learning. In this blog post, I will be sharing toddler math activities. You can find all the printables I mention in this blog post and many others by checking out ClubbhouseKids Store.

1. Toddler Math Printables Pack The Sleigh

This has got to be one of my favorite toddler math printables. I call this Christmas game, Pack The Sleigh. My students love to pretend to be Christmas Elves and help Santa pack the sleigh with presents. They count the correct number of presents into each sleigh. I’m using math linking cubes for our “presents.” You could also use small styrofoam presents, mini erasers, or laminated clipart. If you have been asking how to develop math skills in toddlers, this pack the sleigh activity works on the math skill representation.

2. Christmas Toddler Math Worksheets Tree Count

Looking for Christmas toddler math worksheets? This Christmas Tree Count worksheet works on counting. Working toddler math skills into your child’s day will help build a strong math foundation. How do I teach toddlers to count? The best way I have found is to have them make the number using their fingers. I will ask them to hold up two fingers and then we will count them. For this Christmas Tree count worksheet, we first held up 1 using our fingers and then counted the star. They then glued the star on top of the Christmas tree. Next, we made the number five with our fingers and then counted the number of presents. Last, we counted the number of ornaments on the tree.

3. Toddler Math Feed The Reindeer Shape Match

How to teach toddler math? This feed the reindeer shape match game is a favorite in my classroom. The children love to pretend to feed Santa’s reindeer crunchy carrots. To play the game they match the shape found on the carrot to the coordinating shape found on a sign each reindeer is holding. Add this fun shape game to your toddler math lesson plans and I promise this will become a holiday favorite!

4. Toddler Math Activity Stocking Number Counting

The next Christmas toddler math activity I will be sharing with you is a Stocking Number Counting worksheet. My students love using dot markers to fill in the correct numeral! You could also use stickers or even mini erasers if you wanted to reuse the worksheet. After we have counted each set of stockings and filled in the correct numbers, we use math linking cubes to form the correct numbers.
